Youth Grantmakers in Action (YGA) announces 10 grants totaling $7,500 to support a variety of youth-led projects in Forsyth County. Following are their 2026 Grant Recipients:
- ArtSpark! – $500 for Art Kits & Camps: Big Ideas in Small Boxes, providing accessible, high-quality art kits and hands-on STEAM day camps for children in hospitals and underfunded schools
- Carver High School Youth and Government – $1,000 for professional attire to support students participating in public leadership opportunities
- Chemicals That Change – $1,179 for a Preschool STEAM Summer Camp
- FCDS Garden Club – $400 for The Student Wellness Initiative, a health and wellness social group for Winston-Salem high school students
- Inspiring Hope Learning Center – $474 for a Summer Art Initiative designed to increase creativity and inspire artistic learning among youth
- JFK Drama Club – $1,700 for Beyond Broadway Musical: A Cross-Curricular Experience
- Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy NAACP Youth Chapter –$450 for Prom with a Promise at Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy
- Parkland High School PTSA (Parkland Student Advocacy Alliance – PSAA) – $250 for launching the podcast Hear It From Us for the Parkland community
- Playfair Activewear – $1,000 for expanding access to athletic shoes for youth
- Project Pathmakers – $547 for a Junior Entrepreneurship Day Camp
Youth Grantmakers in Action is a diverse group of 10th –12th graders from across Forsyth County who meet during the school year to gain leadership experience, represent the youth of the community, and grant money to youth-led community projects that will have a positive impact on other youth. The application for the 2026-27 YGA cohort is now open.
