The Winston-Salem Foundation welcomes (l-r), T.L. Brown, Sandlin Douglas, and Mike Horn to The Winston-Salem Foundation Committee, the Foundation’s primary governing body.
T.L. Brown is Chief Fiduciary and Planning Officer for Members Trust Company (remote), for Tampa, Florida-based company, where he leads estate planning, financial planning, and trust administration for clients nationwide. With over 20 years of experience in the trust and wealth management industry, he previously held leadership roles at Wells Fargo, earning the prestigious Golden Spoke Award in 2020. A licensed attorney and graduate of Wake Forest University, Brown holds a B.A. in Political Science, a Juris Doctor, and an MBA. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, U.S. Supreme Court Bar, and Forsyth County Bar Association. Deeply engaged in civic life, Brown has served as President of the Winston-Salem Estate Planning Council, Grants Chair for the Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation, and currently sits on the executive boards of both. He also serves on the board of the Family Services Foundation and is an adjunct professor and Board of Visitors member at Wake Forest School of Law. A Winston-Salem resident since 1995, Brown is committed to serving the community through professional and philanthropic leadership.
Sandlin Douglas is Sandlin Douglas is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. With deep roots in the area, he draws on more than two decades of experience working with generations of high-net-worth families to help grow and transition their wealth to the next generation. Facilitating discussions with clients about their values and goals, Sandlin, along with a team of experienced and credentialed specialists, helps address a wide range of investment management, cash flow planning, trust and estate planning services, philanthropy, lending and other wealth management strategies. Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank in2018, Sandlin was a senior private banker with Wells Fargo Private Bank. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Heavily involved in his community, Sandlin currently serves on the boards of the Reynolda House Museum of American Art, Summit School, Senior Services of Forsyth County and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Foundation. He is the immediate past board chair for both Senior Services and Summit School.
Mike Horn isa seasoned communications and public service leader with a distinguished career spanning journalism, marketing, and civic engagement. He currently serves as Mayor of Lewisville, NC—a role he has held since 2011 and will conclude in December 2025. Mike has had a successful tenure as founder and partner of Horn& Stronach and Vela Strategic Marketing & PR, recognized among the Triad’s top advertising agencies. A University of Florida graduate in Journalism and Communications, Mike has also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor at Wake Forest University. His extensive civic involvement includes serving as Chairman of the Winston-Salem Transportation Advisory Committee, Vice-Chair of the New River Conservancy Board, and a trustee for both Novant Health Triad Region. He has also held leadership roles with the North Carolina League of Municipalities, the Lewisville Historical Society, and the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce. Honored with numerous awards for excellence in advertising and public service, Mike continues to champion strategic communications and regional development across Forsyth County and beyond.
