The Winston-Salem Foundation Award - 2015

D.E. "Woody" Clinard

For tirelessly serving his community in a volunteer capacity – tutoring children, getting projects started, attending teacher workshops, supporting fundraisers, and mentoring youth and adults alike;

For nurturing many community organizations and their efforts, including the Augustine Project, El Buen Pastor and The Hispanic League, with a special interest in supporting public education and Hispanic families;

For being a part of the "Changing the World" movement at Old Town Elementary School, by funding a visit by education expert Eric Jensen, leadership trainings for teachers, classroom materials, and iPads in every classroom;

For bringing considerable ideas and energy along with his time and financial support, to many other organizations, including the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system, CHANGE, Forsyth Education Partnership, and Planned Parenthood.
