After Foundation highlights were delivered, the 2014 Winston-Salem Foundation Award and 2014 ECHO Awards were presented to an exemplary group of community builders. Keynote speaker Dr. Jim Johnson, director of the Urban Investment Strategies Center and the William R. Kenan, Jr., Distinguished Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School served as the luncheon's keynote speaker. Dr. Johnson co-authored the 2011 report, "Six Disruptive Demographic Trends: What Census 2010 Will Reveal?", which identified major shifts in our demographics and their far-reaching implications.
