Marshall B. Bass Endowed Scholars Program at Winston-Salem State University #

Eligibility: Residents of North Carolina with SAT scores of 1100 or more who will be attending Winston-Salem State University.

Marshall B. Bass Scholars Endowment Program at Forsyth Technical Community College #

Eligibility: Those eligible must: be enrolled at Forsyth Tech Community College; be a Forsyth County resident; be a U.S. citizen; have completed at least one academic year at FTCC; have maintained a minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average; be in good standing. Minority students are encouraged to apply.

Andrew Blake Clark Memorial Scholarship #

Eligibility: This scholarship was established in memory of Blake Clark in August 2002 by Dr. Tina Merhofff and Blake's friends and family. The purpose of the fund is to provide college scholarships to worthy graduating high school seniors at Mt. Tabor High School.

A.F. Clement Trust *

Eligibility: Needy elementary, middle, or high school students at Bishop McGuinness High School, Forsyth Country Day High School, Summit School, Salem Academy and Triad Academy

Lloyd E. and Rachel S. Collins Scholarship #

Eligibility: Graduating seniors from North, South, and West Stokes High Schools who exhibit exemplary character, a satisfactory scholastic record, leadership potential, and will be attending a post-secondary education institution.

D. C. Cornelius Memorial Scholarship #

Eligibility: Graduating high school seniors from Forbush High School are eligible to apply. The fund seeks to identify students who demonstrate character, leadership, compassion for all people and dedication to service of community and school. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.8. Demonstration of financial need is preferred. U.S. citizenship is required.

Joyce and Jim Dickerson Scholarship #

Eligibility: Salem Academy boarding students with demonstrated financial need; preference given to minority students.

Wade and Marcelene Duncan Scholarship #

Eligibility: This scholarship was established in 1996 in honor of Wade and Marcelene Duncan. The fund will provide scholarships to worthy high school seniors graduating from either North Stokes or South Stokes High Schools who will attend accredited four-year educational institutions.

East Forsyth High School Alumni Scholarship *

Eligibility: Graduating East Forsyth High School seniors who are well-rounded individuals demonstrating significant promise in academics, leadership, and school service. This award is based on merit and financial need.
This scholarship is not yet available as it is in the growth stage.

Boyles Edison Scholarship #

Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Elkin High School who will attend Surry Community College.

Marlene Marie Pope Flinchum Scholarship #

Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Glenn High School who will attend a North Carolina Community College. This is a one-year non-renewable award.

The Josh Gray Memorial Scholarship #

Eligibility: This scholarship was established in memory of Josh Gray in April 2005 with gifts from his friends and family. The purpose of the fund is to provide college scholarships to worthy graduating high school seniors at Mt. Tabor High School who are members of the girls or boys varsity soccer team.
Contact: Students interested in being considered for the scholarship award should submit grade transcript, high school resume, and personal statement to Stan Huck, Director of Guidance, Mt. Tabor High School, no later than May 13 each year.

Claude B. Hart Memorial Scholarship #

Eligibility: This fund seeks to identify students who demonstrate significant promise in academics, leadership, community service and school service. In addition, it seeks to identify those students who intend to major in mathematics, accounting, computer science, business administration, or mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering in college. Demonstration of financial need is preferred, but not restricted to lowest family incomes.

Johnny Lineberry Memorial Scholarship #

Eligibility: The scholarship may be awarded annually to a worthy graduating high school senior from Forbush High School in East Bend, N.C who will go directly to an accredited vocational/technical school, community college, or college/university in pursuit of a certificate, diploma or baccalaureate degree. Initially, this scholarship will provide a one time $500 award. Eligibility applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.

Chester Arzell and Helen Miller Montgomery Scholarship #

Eligibility: The scholarship will be awarded annually to deserving graduating high school seniors from Stokes County public high schools. Initially, the scholarship will provide $1,000 renewable awards to students attending accredited post-secondary educational institutions. Students eligible for consideration for the scholarship must have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.0, participate in community serivce and extracurricular activities, demonstrate good character, and demonstrate financial need.

Emma Kapp Ogburn Scholarship #

Eligibility: Ministerial students who live in Forsyth County are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Forsyth County residents who intend to work as lay persons in the field of Christian Education are also eligible to apply. Awards are made in the form of a grant/loan which is satisfied through years of service in the ministry. If vocational plans change, the grant/loan will be considered a loan and must be repaid by the recipient to the full extent of the amount awarded.

Eligibility: This scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in Forsyth County who will attend Forsyth Technical Community College. This scholarship seeks students who demonstrate promise in academics and requires a high school cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Demonstration of financial need is preferred, but does not require qualification for federal assistance.

Philo ABC Memorial Scholarship #

Eligibility: Former Philo Middle School students who will pursue a career in education at the post-secondary level, having a CGPA of at least 2.8 at the end of his/her 1st semester high school senior year. Preference given to children of educators.

Eligibility: Established in 2001 by the Winston-Salem Kiwanis Club to provide college scholarships for graduating seniors who are Key Club members in Forsyth County and adjacent counties of Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin.

Bruce Shelton Scholarship #

Eligibility: This scholarship will provide a consecutive four-year renewable award in the amount of $1000 yearly to a graduating high school student from a Forsyth County high school who displays the traits of athletic excellence, academic achievement, leadership, and social responsibility. These are traits for which Bruce Shelton will be remembered by those who knew him.

Eligibility: Siloam community in Surry County -- College scholarships for high school seniors or adults from Siloam area pursuing an associate degree at Surry Community College.

Kapp Weaver Scholarship - RJR High School #

Eligibility: Graduating seniors from R.J. Reynolds High School who rank in the top 15%of their class are eligible to apply. This scholarship also seeks those students who demonstrate leadership in school and/or community activities.
