F.A. and Charlotte Blount Scholarship *

Eligibility: The F.A. and Charlotte Blount Scholarship may be awarded annually to a graduating Forsyth County high school student who will pursue a baccalaureate degree at an accredited college or university. The scholarship will initially provide a renewing award in the amount of $750 yearly and may increase and/or provide additional awards as the size of the fund increases. Preference will be given to minority students.

Tien Bui Memorial Scholarship *

Eligibility: The Tien Bui Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to a worthy graduating high school senior who has attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School's Career Center at some point in his/her high school career and will attend North Carolina State University's College of Engineering. This is a one time award of $1000.

Wes Burton Memorial Scholarship *

Eligibility: This scholarship will be awarded to worthy graduating high school seniors from Mt. Tabor High School. The fund seeks to idenitfy students with significant promise as demonstrated by: a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5, examples of community and school service, and intent to major in mathematics, computer science, business administration, or engineering in college. Demonstration of financial need is preferred, but not restricted to lowest family incomes.

Andrew Blake Clark Memorial Scholarship #

Eligibility: This scholarship was established in memory of Blake Clark in August 2002 by Dr. Tina Merhofff and Blake's friends and family. The purpose of the fund is to provide college scholarships to worthy graduating high school seniors at Mt. Tabor High School.

The Josh Gray Memorial Scholarship #

Eligibility: This scholarship was established in memory of Josh Gray in April 2005 with gifts from his friends and family. The purpose of the fund is to provide college scholarships to worthy graduating high school seniors at Mt. Tabor High School who are members of the girls or boys varsity soccer team.
Contact: Students interested in being considered for the scholarship award should submit grade transcript, high school resume, and personal statement to Stan Huck, Director of Guidance, Mt. Tabor High School, no later than May 13 each year.

Gray High School Alumni Scholarship #

Eligibility: This is a one time scholarship for a graduating senior from both Glenn and Parkland High Schools in the amount of $1000 each. Eligible students must demonstrate financial need and academic potential, and must have been accepted for enrollment to attend a post-secondary education institution.

Brevard R. Hoover, Jr. Leadership Award #

Eligibility: This scholarship will be awarded annually to a worthy R.J. Reynolds High School senior who will go directly to an accredited vocation/technical school, community college, or college/university in pursuit of a certificate, diploma, or degree.

I.W. Hughes Scholarship *

Eligibility: The I.W. Hughes Scholarship is for the benefit of children of active, regular full-time employees of Reynolds American, Inc. and its subsidiaries including R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, R.J. Reynolds Global Products, Inc., Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company, Conwood Company, or Lane, Limited. Graduating high school seniors who intend to pursue undergraduate degrees in the physical sciences or engineering may be considered.

Kapp Weaver Scholarship - RJR High School #

Eligibility: Graduating seniors from R.J. Reynolds High School who rank in the top 15%of their class are eligible to apply. This scholarship also seeks those students who demonstrate leadership in school and/or community activities. Evidence of financial need is also considered, but applicants are not restricted to lowest family incomes.

Douglas Gray Kimel Scholarship *

Eligibility: The Douglas Gray Kimel Scholarship will be awarded annually to a college freshman from Forsyth County who will pursue a degree in music from one of the following institutions: North Carolina School of the Arts, Salem College, Wake Forest University, or Winston-Salem State University. This is a one time award of $500.

Law Enforcement Family Scholarship *

Eligibility: High school seniors of active payroll police department personnel and Forsyth Municipal ABC personnel

NC USSSA Scholarship (NC US Specialty Sports Association Scholarship) *

Eligibility: The NC USSSA Scholarship will support statewide program participants (players, coaches, umpires, etc.) and/oreligible family members who plan to attend an accredited vocation/technical school, community college, or college/university in pursuit of a certificate, diploma, or baccalaureate degree by providing a minimum $500 scholarship. Preference will be given to eligible candidates and their family members who have participated in the baseball program.

Orthopaedic Specialists Nursing Scholarship *

Eligibility: Forsyth County residents seeking a nursing degree at Forsyth Technical Community College or Winston-Salem State University who will, upon completing a degree, practice nursing in Forsyth County, N.C.

The Dean Prim Scholarship #

Eligibility: The Dean Prim Scholarship will award three scholarships annually to qualified high school juniors and seniors from Forsyth, Davie, and Yadkin counties who are committed to participating in foreign summer travel and study programs. The first scholarships will be for four weeks of travel and study in China in summer 2008.

Bruce Shelton Scholarship #

Eligibility: This scholarship will provide a consecutive four-year renewable award in the amount of $1000 yearly to a graduating high school student from a Forsyth County high school who displays the traits of athletic excellence, academic achievement, leadership, and social responsibility. These are traits for which Bruce Shelton will be remembered by those who knew him.

Jeff Turner-Forsyth Audubon Society Scholarship *

Eligibility: Established in May of 2005 in honor of Jeff Turner who was active in the Forsyth County Audubon Society while attending Mt. Tabor High School. For worthy graduating high school seniors in Forsyth County who demonstrate an interest in wildlife or environmental issues.

Edwin H. and Louise N. Williamson Endowed Scholarship #

Eligibility: The Edwin H. and Louise N. Williamson Endowed Scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating high school senior from Forsyth County who will pursue a bachelor's degree at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. The $1500 award is renewable for up to three more consecutive years for a total of $6000 to be applied to the cost of tuition, fees, and room and board.

The Winston-Salem Foundation Scholarship *

Eligibility: This fund will provide scholarships to Forsyth County graduating high schools seniors who will pursue post-secondary education at accredited institutuions. The amount of the award and the number of awards offered will vary accoding to the fund size. Eligible applicants must have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.5 and demonstrate leadership, school service, and community involvement.
