The Legacy Society was created by The Winston-Salem Foundation as a way to recognize and express appreciation to donors who have created permanent legacies at the Foundation. The work of the Foundation is possible only through the generous contributions of individuals and families who wish to ensure the quality of life in their community both now and in the future.
THE LEGACY SOCIETY INCLUDES DONORS WHO:
Have established unrestricted endowments with a market value of $10,000 or more or another type of endowed fund valued at $25,000 or more at the Foundation.
Have made provisions for the Foundation of $25,000 or more through deferred gifts, such as charitable bequests, charitable remainder trusts, qualified retirement plans, life insurance, real estate, or other assets. (Disclosures of future commitments are non-binding.)
- Members are recognized each year in the Foundation's Report to the Community.
- Donors may choose to remain anonymous members of The Legacy Society.
- Legacy Members have full access to all donor services offered by the Foundation.
- Members are included in events exclusively for Legacy Society donors.
