The community foundation concept that Colonel Francis Fries brought to Winston-Salem in 1919 included a critical role for community leaders.  The Foundation is fortunate to have an extraordinarily dedicated and generous group of community volunteers serving on the Foundation Committee, the primary governing body of the organization, as well as on its other supporting committees.
