ECHO Awards

The Winston-Salem Foundation and the ECHO Council want to honor people and organizations that are building social capital.  With the ECHO Award we hope to recognize those who personify the ECHO logo of building a stronger community by building connections among people.

Nominees for an ECHO Award can be:

  • Individuals or informal groups
  • Unsung heroes and heroines from our community
  • Community members who lead wherever they are involved

Award winners receive a gift of $1,000 to donate to a charitable organization of their choice, hopefully one that is building social capital.  Winners are announced at the Foundation's community meeting each spring. The nomination process for the 2009 ECHO Awards will be solicited in early 2009.

Please note that current members of the Foundation staff and board and members of the ECHO Council are ineligible to receive an ECHO Award.  Nominees should be residents of Forsyth County.
