The initiative is lead by African-American volunteers who understand the impact giving has made in the development of our community. With the support and supervision of The Winston-Salem Foundation, the Black Philanthropy Initiative hopes to expand the reach of philanthropy as well as its benefits.
Make a gift to Youth Grantmakers in Action
Youth Grantmakers in Action (YGA) of The Winston-Salem Foundation is a diverse group of youth from across Forsyth County that comes together to gain leadership experience, represent youth in their community, voice their opinions, and make grants to youth-directed projects that address community issues and challenges in Forsyth County. This project was created to engage young people and their critical insight into the needs of other youth in the community. YGA is structured to support authentic, working partnerships between young people and adults in designing these community change projects. YGA makes annual grants to youth-led projects benefiting youth in Forsyth County. Gifts will be added to the YGA endowment, which produces income for their yearly grants.
