Named Memorial Funds

Your gift will be made to a named memorial fund that has been recently established at The Winston-Salem Foundation. If you would like to contribute to a memorial fund that is not listed, please contact Jo Ann Kyslinger at (336)714-3454.

Community Fund/Book of Memory

Your gift to the Community Fund will enable the Foundation to make competitive grants to community organizations that are making our community a better place in which to live. Program areas include arts and culture, education and recreation, health, human services, older adults, public interest, and youth.

You may also choose to make a memorial gift to the Community Fund; the memorialized person’s name will be entered into the Foundation's Book of Memory.

The Women's Fund of Winston-Salem

The Women's Fund of Winston-Salem is committed to providing grants to organizations and initiatives that address the ever changing needs of all women and girls in our community and to building a community of female philanthropists by raising awareness and educating women and girls about the power of philanthropy.

The Black Philanthropy Initiative

The mission of the Black Philanthropy Initiative (BPI) of The Winston-Salem Foundation is to acknowledge and celebrate the traditions of sharing in the African-American community and expand the models of charitable giving through education and engagement.  The Inititative’s Black Philanthropy Fund, dedicated to supporting issues that impact the African-American community, focuses on education, financial literacy, and parenting and life skills training.

Youth Grantmakers in Action

Youth Grantmakers in Action (YGA) of The Winston-Salem Foundation is a diverse group of teenagers from across Forsyth County who come together to develop guidelines, solicit proposals, and make grants to youth-led programs that serve their peers in the community.  Gifts will be added to the YGA endowment, which produces income for their yearly grants.
