Unrestricted Fund
WHAT ARE THEY?

They are a type of fund that enables you to meet community needs in perpetuity. Because every community is a fluid, changing entity, we are unable to foresee its specific, future needs. Income from Unrestricted Funds is used to make competitive grants to nonprofit organizations and meet the most pressing needs.

By establishing an Unrestricted Fund, you benefit from the Foundation's investment expertise and monitoring services. Our program staff carefully monitors every discretionary grant and ensures that funds are used appropriately.

If you would like to contribute to an Unrestricted Fund that is already making grants in the community, consider making a gift to the Foundation's Community Fund.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • You can establish a fund in honor or in memory of a loved one or name it for yourself and/or your family.
  • Because it is an endowment, it ensures that the community will have resources to strategically use in perpetuity.
  • This type of fund enables the Foundation Committee to make grants to support the most pressing community needs.
  • There is no minimum or fee to establish a fund.
HOW TO GET STARTED:
  • Discuss an unrestricted fund with your financial advisor or a member of the Foundation's Donor Services team.
  • The Foundation will customize a fund agreement for you.
  • Make an initial contribution.
